Safety

’Where Am I?’ emergency locator gives you details about your position when you tap the car icon on the screen. nüvi gives you your exact location complete with nearest address, contact details for your local vehicle recovery service and directions to nearby hospitals, police and petrol stations. nüvi 245W contains Cyclops speed cameras to give route-relevant alerts tailored to your planned journey, speed travelled and direction. Don’t be fooled by false alerts, Cyclops uses a patented ‘corridor’ technique of camera validation and also displays speed limits for greater awareness. Protect nüvi 245W with Garmin Lock™, an inventive anti-theft protection system that uses GPS technology to lock the sat nav to a secure location of your choice. Just use a pin or return to the location to unlock the device.

Enhanced navigation

Redefine your sightseeing with photo navigation to get there in a snap! Plan trips to landmarks and attractions simply and easily before you set off. Just choose and save location-tagged photographs from Garmin Connect Photos in a wish-list of places to visit. Then, at your leisure, select a photo destination and enjoy turn-by-turn directions straight to the scene. nüvi 245W’s collection of built-in travel tools also includes a picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency and measurement converter, calculator and more.

Traffic compatible

Pair with optional traffic receiver accessory* and nüvi 245W deliverspremium lifetime traffic to keep you aware of traffic jams, accidents and roadworks on your route. This FM traffic service takes live traffic data from cameras located every two miles along every major route to help you avoid the tailbacks. Traffic information is just a toggle away. Simply tap between the main navigation screen and traffic alerts while Garmin keeps you up to date with the tailbacks and suggests a better route around the delay.
