Latest Map Guarantee
The TomTom XL ² IQ Routes edition ships with the TomTom 'Latest Map Guarantee', which entitles you to one free map download via TomTom Home if a newer map becomes available during the first 30 days from when you first start using your device. Simply follow these instructions to install the latest maps for your device within this 30 day period.

Featuring preloaded maps of the UK and Western Europe, you can navigate with ease to one of many European destinations with a simple tap of the screen. Simply plug and go straight out of the box to start navigating to your destination of choice. There are also a selection of map upgrades available to purchase via TomTom so you can install the very latest maps, or even add a new set of maps to your device.

IQ Routes Technology
The TomTom XL IQ Routes features TomTom’s unique IQ Routes technology for efficient route calculation. Based on historical travel time information for every road, specified for every day of the week, at five minute intervals, rather than the traditional static measure of maximum speed per road type, the TomTom XL IQ Routes provides a more accurate measure of journey time. By calculating routes based in this manner, your TomTom can select the optimal route, saving significant time and lowering fuel costs.

Traffic ready
The TomTom XL ² is also traffic ready, meaning that drivers have easy access to traffic information via an RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver accessory. By simply connecting the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver* to your TomTom XL² device and the car charger, you will automatically receive traffic information via the TMC connection. Once a journey is planned, traffic alerts which relate to the route are clearly displayed in the traffic bar on the right hand side of the screen. When you tap the icon shown in the traffic bar, you will receive further information, such as the cause or kind of delay to traffic, such as an accident or traffic jam. *RDS-TMC receiver is NOT included and must be purchased separately

The extensive ‘Help Me!’ menu includes information such as emergency and breakdown service numbers, directions to the nearest hospital, car maintenance advice and first aid instructions.
