XdaIIi - Text issue bugging the hell out of me

Hi guy's,
Recently got a XdaIIi and it has a really irritating habit of displaying the contents of any received text message on the screen, thus meaning anyone can see the contents. Is there anyway to disable this function???????

Go into settings/sounds&notifications
select notification tab
click event and select messaging: new message
untick box "display message on screen"
