Pewe,

Thanks re e-mail...

I am using TT5 which I was under the impression I use the 'patch' type thing on the TT website to upgrade to TT5.21? the pocket pc version (my current version is Mobile 5)

I've installed it but it keeps hanging or crashing... tried all sorts

Its an 02 Mini S XDA

Thanks

Scott

But is the Version of TT you are using for a PDA or Mobile Phone? The mobile phone version will not work on a PDA (which is the version you need for an XDA mini s).

Have you downloaded the correct update?

Do I need to buy a TT5 for the XDA then? any advice where to get this from cheaper than TT site?

So it would seem I need TT5 for a PDA,

Problem there is I already have a bluetooth GPS which I'm happy with and I have a 512 card, so don't really want to have to put the TT software in each time? Can you just buy the software on CD?

Thanks

Scott

Yes you can - for around £90. Do a search on Google and you'll find them.

4. Start TT5 and the GPS settings, select another bluetooth GPS, and you will see COM 6 free. Select COM 6 and close TT5.
5. At the GPS control panel again, now select COM (none)
6. At BT: select OUTGOING port to 6.
7. Finally start TT5 and it should connect automatically. Wait for a couple of seconds and click the GPS settings and you should see it has connected.
Hi I am trying to get TomTom Navi 5 to recognise my Bluetooth GPS reciever. I am running it on a basic installed O2 XDA Mini S.

I have got as far as step 4 in stevies fantastic install guide, but have hit a problem. No matter how i try it the only com ports available to select in TT5 are; COM9, Infrared Port, COM3, COM0, COM2 and Serial Port.

Any ideas why? Desperate thanks!

If you are running TT5 it will not show other ports even if you have set them up for your BT device.
You need to upgrade to TT 5.21 which then sees port 6 (or in my case 7 because port 6 would not work.)

Here's what I did.

I Paired BT device, as serial.
In the BT control panel I then went to com ports and set a new outgoing com port for the BT device (7 in my case).
I installed TT5 - no joy seeing port 7 as an option for other BT device..
I upgraded to V5.21
Now for other BT device it gave the option of com 7.
It was all set to go.

Have you tried the TT v5.21 upgrade?

ok have got new update, which now shows COM6 as an option. HAve selected this and paired up the BT GPS and given it an outgoing port 6.

In TT5 still saying "No GPS Device!" eeek. it's gonna go out the window in a minute!
