The only one that would meet all of your requirements is tomtom nav 5 and we can get a specific car mounting kit for your pda as well. Tomtom 5 also comes with a Sirf star III reciever.
From the GPS recievers you mentioned only the GR236 is star III the others are star II. Alturion is more expensive as it comes with european maps and will work on both your PDA and your PC. AA Nav, destinator and navman will not let you get traffic updates and its harder to add speed camera info to AA nav.
So I would definately say tomtom is the one to go for.

There seem to be many options. I've looked on this site at the various receivers and software but I'm still not sure which would suit my needs best.
The system is primarily for in-car use. As well as basic route planning GPS functionality, I would like:
1. The ability to receive up to date traffic reports and speed camera locations (at a reasonable cost!)
2. Ability to reroute around traffic problems
3. Ability to upgrade maps as these become outdated
4. In car mounting kit
5. Post code recognition (at least 5 digit but pref. 6 digit)
6. Voice guided directions
7. Not essential - ability to use the system outside the car (ie. on foot)
As far as I can see from this website, I could use the following receivers: Navman 4410 or 4420 (what is the difference between these two), Holux GR-231 or GPSlim236 or and Emtac Trine II. I think I would like a Sirf Star III model - I'm not sure which are and which aren't?
Regarding software, I think I could use one of these: Alturion GPS6 (Pro (expensive - why?), Std or PDA6 versions - what is difference between these three?), or AA Nav software or Destinator PN. Are there others?
Another alternative is TomTom Nav 5 (software + receiver in one)
Have I missed any out?
What are the pros and cons of the various receivers / software packages and what combination would suit my needs best, for use on an XDA IIs.
