Transferring Text Messages

Does anyone know a way to transfer my text messages from my old phone (SPV C500) to my Xda Mini? I've done the hard bit by using IR to move my contacts over, but can't see how the text messages can be done - not that I fancy doing it like the contacts anyway, as there are so many of them.

I did have Spirte backup on the SPV, and all my data backed up, but in their wisdom, Sprite, who make backup, have a new version out for WM5 which is not compatible with any previous backups - clever people, eh? *Whatever happened to common sense*?

Not sure if this would work but on my imate jam the messages are stored in the mydevice/windows/messaging/ folder.
You could try copying this folder to pc then across to your new pda. There is a good possibility that since these will be in a different format since its win mob 2003 to win mob 2005 this may cause your machine to lock up.

You could always check on microsoft windows mobile support page.
