speaker problem

At first took it to be a headset problem, bought new set still very low sound, checked socket thought that the problem. wasnt . Always listen to books , tried music this time and it was a lot louder but not in stereo as on pc. voices seem to be a lot lower, spoken word really low. switch stereo in tcmp player but stays the same as seems only one speaker eworking. Is tghis possible? sorry this sounds so stupid a question.
