There *should* be an option somewhere for connect/prompt when needed which should prompt you with a message asking if you want to connect to the GPRS service.
Enable that option.

The only way I sorted out that is eliminating the GPRS connection from the settings/connections manage my existing conections and delete the 02 conecction that is the gprs conection. the only problem is that you wont be able to use the gprs were you don't have a wi-fi is very primitive but works

Is it easy to set up the GPRS/3G later if you want to use it again?

I've been having the same problem and it's doing my head in. It doesn't even try to connect straight after I turn of WiFi, it does it a few minutes later when the phone's back in my pocket. Anyway, why would someone want the phone to automatically try to connect through GPRS when they've just manually turned off WiFi? And worse, why neglect to have the otpion to disable it? That's a really irritating (and expensive) bit of programming (or lack of it). Right, I've had my little rant, feel better!

I have created another Connection Setting which is called wi-fi,

it contains no connection information and is the normally selected connection settings so that if the Wi-Fi is not active the unit can not connect to GPRS, when I want to use the GPRS I just change the connection back to the GPRS connection settings.
