using xda mini s as a bluetooth modem

I'm having problems getting my xda mini s to function as a modem, via a bluetooth connection to my laptop. Is there anywhere that I can find clear step-by-step guidance to get this sorted?

Many thanks Charlie. I have had a quick look the site you linked - and whilst I can get the principle, the screenshots don't bear any/much resemblance to what I am seeing on my laptop.
I will give it a bit more attention later when I have more time.
