Problem With Pairing gps with xda 2i

Hi, I need help in pairing my xda 2i with a qstarz gps receiver, my xda will detect it but it's not pairing, I know it will as I have done it in the past but I cannot remember how I did it. The xda should create a shortcut for the connection, but it isn't and I don't know how to create it. Please help.
