Unhappy O2 XDA Exec software meltdown

Recently restored my machine to a previous backup using Sprite Backup. As a result most of my software programs will not operate. After restore process got the message Notification Error "Cannot execute\Windows\nrdwakeup.exe" Solved this by deleting said file using SK tools notifications que (which was still working). However when I try to open many software programs I have added to the machine I get the message The file '....' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its componenets cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file". I tried to reinstall some of these programs but the machine won't let me, always coming up with the "download unsuccessful" message. Did not realise Sprite was so dangerous! Is it a hard reset or has anyone any ideas to save my precious data? Any help at least to understand what might have happened would be much appreciated. Mark
