Default Playing video files on XDA IIs

The only files I seem to be able to play are Mpeg4. Even tho everyone says AVI can play too. Whenever I try to play AVI all I get is Audio with no Sound. The only Media player I have is Windows Media player, is this where I am going wrong ?

Also is there any freeware Mpeg4 converters, I have a free trial at moment which works great except for the great big watermark across it. Ideally it is Mpeg4 I would like to use as I have heard they use less memory. Is this true ?

hi bud
i watch videos/films all the time when travelling heres what i use all free

this is the encoder from avi (and others) to pocket pc size

PocketDivXEncoder
just click on download then mirror 1 and save to disk and load on your pc
very easy to use just load it then click on the pocket pc picture usually second from the left, load avi file to encode, resize video to fill screen increase audio and video quality then encode. transfer the film to your memory card done

next the pocket pc avi player called pcpmp

Download TCPMP (Pocketpc) goto the free download and save to file
then install on your pda .click file load film then press play when playing if you press the screen twice it plays full screen and at 90 degrees so you can watch it better. any probs give us a shout
