Default Replacing The Digitizer. O2 XDA II.

I have my XDA open in front of me, the screen is off, and it is attached the digitizer via an electrical strip.

Where do I go from here? I can see that I am supposed to unattach the original digitizer and attach the new one, but it appears to have been siliconed, or glued with some kind of very hard resin.

EDIT: After all that, it was tape.

I have replaced the digitizer, glued the new screen onto the metal mounting, and it doesn't work. As reguards the connection, I cleaned it with circuit cleaner and taped it back down as it was before.

Have you tried doing a soft reset?

Also what caused the original touch screen to fail?

I cracked the digitizer itself. Parts of the old one still worked, where there wasn't a crack breaking the vertical and horizontal lines from the point I had touched to the edges of the screen.

I bought and fitted a new one, taped the connector on, and it doesn't work.

Chances are the screen break did more damage that you think, or the new one is faulty.

Any reason you didnt get O2 to replace it?
