Default using wifi on ppc with laptop

Probably a very strange question, i've got a laptop that dosent have wifi, i have it in my motorhome when were out in it, and connect to the net using a GPRS data card,

In a couple of days time were going for a tour round france, and i wont be using the gprs data card then, as it'd be £5.99 per meg when roaming.

I've just picked up a pda that has wifi (toshiba E740, got it cheap with a seemingly naff battery, it had the usual problem with that model of re-setting it's self seemingly randomly, the internal battery was flat so i'd loose all data, fixed it tho, one pair of battery connectors had dry solder joints, and the backup battery was in back to front!!!! rectified those 2 faults, and it's not re-set it's self for 5 days and counting, was doing it 5 times a day before)

Anyway, i got the ppc mainly for GPS in the van, but i've downloaded a few wifi sniffer proggys, and thought i'd have a go at getting connected to the net when in france via wifi,

i know i should just use the PPC for surfing and writing e-mails if i do find a an open wifi spot where we're going (west coast of france, as far as 140 litres of diesel will take us over 2 or 3 weeks, trying to do this trip on the cheap)

But i was wondering... is it at all possible to connect the laptop to the wifi network via the PPC?
like how i can connect to the wired net through the laptop or a desktop using the docking cradle,
is it possible to do that process in reverse,

yes i know my solution should be a wifi card for the laptop, but if it's possible to do this using the wifi card that's built into the PPC i'd be very happy, means we can buy a few more snails and frogs legs for tea one night
