Has anyone managed to get this combination working?

Compaq IPAQ 3630 16 mb ROM 32 mb RAM running PPC 2002
Navman 3400 Jacket with 128 mb Compact flash card
Tomtom 5

I have tried just about everything and am still getting "no valid GPS signal"

1/ uninstalled and reinstalled tomtom 5 - including a hard reset, and several soft resets as well

2/ installed navman driver from navman website - which does now appear in the list of wired devices in tomtom

3/ installed v3.07 of the tomtom navigator - which appears to have more GPS drivers for wired receivers(?)

4/ removed and reinstalled the maps on the CF card (although not sure this is of any relevance)

5/ installed navman's own GPS software to test signals - this picks up 4 satellites almost straight away - but when i go in to check the GPS status in tomtom, it can only find maybe 3, but is unable to lock on to the signal - although it does show the correct time in GMT.....?


any suggestions would be welcome, as I have now been stood out in the rain walking around the garden trying to pick up satellite signals for the past several hours, and am totally fed up!
