Yup sounds like you deleted the maps. Either that, or your phone thinks your mem card has been removed. Try removing & reinserting.
You could try
www.pcinspector.de and their flash/card recovery tool. BUT if you've written to the card since, you've prob lost this.
Can't you reload from the CD???
