Yes it appears everywhere except in Windows media.
I have tried the drag and drop method, but unfortunately it does not work for video files, its OK for music.
I think there must be some sort of conversion goes on to change the format to something mobile can read, similar to office documents.
Maybe if I knew the file type I could download some conversion software and try that.
