Default Replacing the touch screen on iPaq 6515

Hello All
I cracked it while replacing the case so I bought a new one. It has this plastic connector with 4 pins that's supposed to be glued to the back of the LCD. Does the end off the plastic strip (with the 4 pins) supposed to have a peel-off cover or something? I am unable to get it of but haven't tried hard enough because I don't want to mess with the pins. But it does look like it has some kind of a protective cover and also is not sticking to the back of the LCD. So it looks like I need to peel something off. Any advice?
Thanks
Rafik
