Re Tom Tom registration, they are very strict about this. It's their Anti-Piracy stand!

At the last check......
After first install - cannot re-register on another PDA for 7 days.
After the 7 day period you are allowed one futher install within 6 months.

Should PDA die or be replaced they will 'insist' on proof of repair or new device purchase for any other request. I have first hand experience of this. I installed on my old PDA, found bluetooth was not working. I purchased a new 2210, but it arrived within 2 days, and it would not accept a registration. I phoned them and was advised that I had to email them the proof of purchse to re-set the registration. They were very clear 'no proof' NO registration.

On the plus side this was completed within 30 minutes but I've heard horror stories of TomTom support taking days to respond!

Yes it can be done but be prepared to wait........
