Default Use of 3 USB modem to connect PDA for data download

Grateful for any help

I have a 3 usb modem that i use with my laptop but am now interested in using it with a PDA. It has a USIM that i am hoping i can plug into a PDA and then download data via the internet.

I am not interested in making calls, just downloading data.

Anyone know if this is possible and if so what PDAs would be capable?

PDA's cannot use USB devices like a PC would.

If you want data on a PDA, then you need a CF or SDIO solution, or use IRDA to connect to your mobile or laptop.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not looking to use the usb element. Instead i can remove the sim card and i was hoping i could plug that into one of the newer PDAs (or perhaps I am talking smartphone) that are advertisong 3G and HSDPA.

Does that make it any more possible?

Technically it should be possible with a 3g handset like the HTC Tytn but 3 may have locked the sim to the device.
