 complete noob gps help needed....

just got my first pda with gps. ( ipaq 2200 / tomtom 3 )
got tomtom installed ok but when i load it up it looks for a bluetooth device.
I have a syson gps cf plus receiver in the top of pda. I sthis the device its looking for ?
Does gps need bluetooth to work?
