Smile Mio 168 AA Navigator

I've just bought this package from:
http://www.easydevices.co.uk/pp/SatN...PS_BUNDLE.html
and am finding it a struggle.
I'm not familiar with Palm-Tops and the software which synchronises the Palm-Top and desktop PC is unfamiliar to me.
It comes with a CD that has all the AA Navigator software on it and it takes several minutes to copy it to the smart card on the Palm-Top.
I manage to get it to contact the GPS from my upstairs window and for it to give me my first instruction and today I'm fitting it to the car. It just uses a sucker.
The external aerial socket is very poor. It easily disconnects and I expect that I'll have to tape it in position.
I'll try it first without the external aerial.

How did it go without the external antenna?
Did you not get the company to install it for you if you are un familuar? This is a service that we are doing free of charge at the moment and would would have been able to use it straight out of the box.
