Welcome to our forums.
We are not aware of any repair centres for DELL other than DELL themselves.
Will they not repair it for a fee for you?

DELL do not offer a repair service. If PDA is still within the 12 month warranty they will replace the PDA. But if outside the warranty they will not do any repairs they even sugested buying a new model. Think Dell should publicise the fact that if PDA is over 12 months old you have no chance of getting it repaired unless you are prepared to send it to the USA where there is 2 companies who they suggest trying but they cant recommend them. Basically DELL's support is less than helpful. Not even responded to my complaints

The only other option would be to buy a faulty one that has a faulty screen or similiar and attempy to repair it yourself. Only if you feel you could acomplish it yourself.

I have had exactly the same thing happen to my Dell Axim X3. I contacted Dell about a repair and had no responce to my e-mail, however I think that may be becuase there is no support linked with my service code. The PDA was given to me by a University who had it donated to them by Dell.

Does anyone have any experience with repairing an Axim themselves? If I could get a replacement connector then I would have a go, on the other hand perhaps it is better to give up now and sell it on E-Bay before I do more damage? Any thoughts?

Hi,

I had the same problem when i bought my first x3 (eBay).
My husband's an electronics engineer, so I had dig around and found out that I could buy the connectors from the US (I could only find one supplier) and hey presto! I now have a perfect x3. The replacement connector looks a lot more sturdy as well.

Anyway.... Hubby is now willing to fix the things as a bit of a sideline, provided enough people are interested to make it worth his while shipping the connectors over.

Let me know.

Best wishes

Sapphire
