Dell Axim X5 problem

Hi Folks,

I hope someone can help with this. I have a Dell Axim X5 pda operating on PPC 2003. I was given this as a gift but have hit a snag with it. The unit seems great except it doesnt have bluetooth built in, i thought it would be easy just to buy a cf bluettoth card but I've not seen any which are compatible with PPC2003. Spoke to Dell and they cant upgrade it with bluetooth. What are my options here. Can I downgrade to PPC 2002 so that it works or do I just need to accept I aint gonna have bluettoth because in that case it's not much use to me

Welcome to our forums.
If there are no cards that support/are supported by PPC2003 then it's only a matter of time before they are as all new PDAs ship with a variant of PPC2003. Which cards in particular have you looked at?

I've done searches on Google and trawled all through Ebay. It seems silly that there are none available. Is there anywhere better I can look?

It seems be what you are looking for and it works with WM2003.

Is WM2003 the same as PPC 2003? I'm confused as to why it's changed to WM2003???

The operating system used to be called PPC 2002 (Pocket PC) and when they upgraded it, for some reason they changed to WM 2003 (Windows Mobile). If you are unsure which you have, go to start-setting-system information. Look at the ROM version. If you have A01-4 you have PPC 2002. If you have A05 you have WM2003.
