Default Axim X30 internet connection problems

Hi

I recently bought an axim x30 with bluetooth and wifi but can not connect to the internet. I am trying to use a GPRS connection through Vodafone using the string they provided ie *99#. i have spoken to vodafone about it and they gave me some settings for an ipaq because they don't support dell pda's.

i can see that the pda and mobile phone are connected but keep getting the message "can't connect for an unknown reason" and then i'm told to check settings.

It seems that i am expected to be an expert to be able to understand what they are talking about.

Any help would be appreciated.

IanS

Welcome to our forums.
I think the string they have give you is too short but I may be wrong....I think it should have another number at the end to indicate the CID.

Thanks for the reply. Vodafone gave me "extra dial-string modem commands". +cgdcont=1,"ip","internet"but it will not connect. Could it have something to do with activesync not working with email. When I connect to pc message to resolve the issue just asks me to turn off pda and try again.

Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't think it has anything to do with Activesync or email...it's clearly the wrong settings you have been provided. I'm afraid I don't know the settings you require and can only recommend you get on to them again.
