charge-n-sync cable for axim x30

I recently purchased a ZIP-LINQ charge-n-sync Axim X3 retractable cable.
The on-line vedor site advertise this product as compatible with Axim X30.
Unfortunately, this cable does not sync nor does it charge my Axim X30...
instead, I keep seeing "Power Sugreg on Hub Port" message for usb icon.

Has anyone ever tried this cable and has a success with it?

Or do I have a defective product?
