Default Dell Axim X51v Pocket PC - TomTom software

I thinking about upgrading my Pocket PC and I'm considering the Dell Axim X51v. I use GPS in my car and already have Navman software and a Navman bluetooth GPS. (Presently using an iPaq 5550)

I understand that the Navman will not work on the Dell Axim X51v.

Will the TomTom Mobile 5 work on the Dell? (I still want to used the Navman GPS receiver so I would just go for the TomTom Mobile 5 software.)

Regards,

Stefan

Welcome to our forums.
TomTom Movile 5 is the mobile phone version. You will need TomTom Navigator 5 for a PocketPC.The X51V isn't listed as compatible yet which I suspect is because it runs Windows Mobile 5 but this should be addressed in the near future by TomTom.

Thanks Charlie, I'll keep my eye on the forum for updates on compatibility.

maybe you can knock the opperating system back to 2003 (you would need the disk for this) but i am told by dell that microsoft now have a fix for this

it's more of a case of waiting for tom tom to catch up with WM5 than downgrading back to match them in my opinion.
