Some help for a beginer

Hi
I have bought a Dell Axim V51 and want to use it for retrieving email. i have not set it up yet as i want some advice first, do i need to buy any other software ie sim cards or anything, or is it all built in? do i have to contacty a service provider and register. Sorry for souding stupid but i guess i am at this. basic terminology appreciated.

You would need to connect to a mobile phone to access GPRS to connect to the Internet.
