Default Connecting PDA to PC - newb question

Right have just got a dell axim X5, have plugged crable into PC and put pda in.

Blue dell light comes on and windows goes through finding usb device, now here's the problem:

I bought the pda cheap and it came with no driver disk, I have done the usual searching of Dell and downloaded the updates for the machine but there is no driver as such - am I missing something.

Sorry for totally daft question.

regards,

Matt

Remove the PDA from the cradle.

Download and install Activesync 4.1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...ivesync41.mspx
Follow ALL installation prompts, including PC reset.
Connect your X5, and create a "Standard Partnership".

Once you're that far, all the selections for waht to sync are on the tools/options menus. Also make sure you select "Backup this device at reconnection" - trust me on that one!

Thanx for that, have installed the software and connected to my work network.

Another newb question, how do I connect to internet via works connection..

I have gone into settings, connections, connections , add a new modem connection - but the connection to the works newtwork is via the dell card in my pda which isn't an option on the modem list. Am I doing something stupid again???

regards,

Matt

When you sat card, which card make and model? It will not connect to the net unless you have an IR, USB or CF card (wi-fi, bluetooth etc etc) connection

If you mean when it's in the cradle, then you may have to adjust the setting in activesync: File>connection settings

Try http://www.aximusers.com/forum/archi...hp/t-2566.html

That's a very good site for Axim support.
