Default axim x51v 624MHz or...?

After a small market research i did (i am not a pda computers expert..), i found the axim x51v 624MHz very interesting suggestion. I mainly need this pda to schedule appointments, wifi internet and once i am into the design field i am looking for a screen that performs well (pictures, powerpoint presentations...).

I used to have years ago a palm IIIe (i never used it much actually) and i was a bit dissaointed from the os softwrare in terms of connectivity with my desktop computer that run windows and this is why i am thinking of pdas that run Microsoft operating system.

I wish to ask few questions though once as i said i know few aboit pdas and computers in general.

1. when i conect to the internet, will i see the web sites as i see then in my desktop (i mean layout pictures etc)?

2. if i import .pdf files, can i add text in the file? in my desktop i have acrobat professional so i can create - work on .pdfs. Can i do that in teh version available for pdas?

3. can i use skype with this device?

4. is there any other model that could fit my need?

thank you for your time,

alex

Dell make very good devices, and the x51 is a very nice PDA.

Surfing the net on a PDA is similar, but obv the screen is smaller. Surfing PDA versions of sites is faster, and images sizes are smaller, file size wise, which is a must via GPRS.

I don't believe there are any PDF creation/editing apps for PDA's. Certainly none that I know of.

I have not used skype personally, but IIRC martin posted here recently that doing so via a PDA was slow and unreliable - do a search on this forum.

Personally I think Dell make very good PDA's. I moved to a iPaq 2790, and whilst happy with it, it doesn't feel well built compared with my old Dell x5.

I have just bought an X51V and would agree with all that the other guy who replied said. Looking at the Internet on the X51V in annoying at time, as there seem to be some sites it cannot load, but the key/popular ones I use are fine. You do have to keep scolling around both horizontally an vertically.
This is my second Dell PDA and I would commend them to you!
