Unhappy BackSpace and delete key won't work

Hi can anybody help, or point me in the right direction to correct this problem?
My husband''s Dell Axim51 has suddenly decided that it will no longer let him delete anything. As we are both fairly inexperienced in this sort of thing, we cannot discover why this should happen. I''ve looked in settings but can''t see anything that might help. We make lots of mistakes when entering data and it is very difficult now that we can no longer delete the errors.
Please, if anyone has experienced a similar problem, or could possibly give us an idea of what we have done wrong, we would be very grateful.
Thank you

You can use the stylus to selct text then tap and hold to cut it.

Have you tried the pda in portrait mode to see if its a touch screen issue. You might also want to try and realign the screen taps
