Question position drifting off road ?

I have a HP 5455 with a Hiacom serial sirf111 receiver running Destinator PN.
Most of the time everything works ok but sometimes while driving I have noticed my position on map is approx 150 to 200 meters off the road, it will take a few mins for it to then correct itself only to do it again further down the road ????. As I said some days it is OK ?
There is no obstructions that I can see above me and when I check the Sats. indicator in destinator it is picking up 8 to 12 sats. ????.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Regards

The accuarcy of your GPS can vary due to a number of reasons unfortunately. Also there could be a problem with the maps in that area as well.

Thanks Martin, I have been trying a few things and have put my old Destinator 3 software back on this new (bought second hand but still new to me :-) ) Pda h5455 and have found it now works OK NO Drift from my location at all ?. I have been in contact with Destinator Rep in Sydney and they did not have an answer to this, but suggested waiting for Destinator 6 and buy the upgrade for mine. So I think I might still use VER 3 and see what bugs people have with the new ver before spending more of my cash.
Regards Graeme
