Lack Of Customer Service I purchased a Dell Axim x3i in November, as a xmas present. I had actually phoned to order an X30, but was told there would be none in stock until the week before xmas. I was told that the X3i was equivalent, but had a slower processor.
The intention of this purchase was to follow it up with the purchase of a TomTom Bluetooth Nav, in Jan, as a birthday present. I made this clear when ordering, and was told that the X3i had bluetooth. The invoice from www.totalpda.co.uk also indicates that the device has Bluetooth.
We didn't get the chance to check out the bluetooth functionality until the TomTom was purchased, as we have no other bluetooth devices. Turns out that the x3i must have been one of the early batch which did not have bluetooth.
I attempted to contact www.totalpda.co.uk via their online form 3 weeks ago. I got no response.
I spent a whole Saturday 2 weeks ago trying to get through on the phone, to be greeted each time with the message that the office was currently closed and would be open between 1030 and 1630). I tried on an hourly basis and kept getting that message.
I spent the whole of the following Monday trying to get through, and after 2 mins 11 seconds, repeatedly got an answerfone message saying that they were busy.
So I sent a letter, recorded delivery, which was delivered on 26/1
I got no response within a reasonable period, so gave the phone one last chance. After about 3 hours I finally got to speak with some one. She said that the letter had never arrived (contrary to what Royal Mail claim), but that someone would contact me by email, within 2 days.
7 days later nothing, so following the advice of Trading Standards I am sending one more letter, before contacting my credit card company for assistance in getting the money back, as under both English and Scottish law they have broken the contract in not supplying the goods as ordered, and as described on the invoice. |
