not able to get signal on fortuna gps reciever

Hi, all hope you will be able to help!!!

got tt5 on compaq ipaq3850 and bought a gps reciever from ebay sellers shop(fortuna gps reciever) plugged the reciever in and set the settings to other nmea gps on com port 1 tried other variations in the settings but with the same result. no signal and no reciever recognised, any seggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

What sort of GPS receiver is it? Bluetooth, CF, cabled - or even a part number of the device would be a start - Mike
