Default gps signal

i hae a HP 4700hx pda with a tom tom wireless mk2 receiver. every time i switch on the tom tom it goes straight to flashing, meaning it cant get fix.
It doesnt effect the sat na programme i have on pda, but i want to use it as gps device on golf course, but doesnt get signal. Is there something I should do with tom tom wireless?

If the green light is flashing, then you have GPS lock.

I have this same receiver.

There's probably a GPS settings option on your golf program. You normally have to tell the program which type of receiver you are using and which com port the data is coming in on.
