Question Is Bluetooth GPS Reliable?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and looking for some advice. I'm looking to upgrade my system in the near future and am considering an Ipaq 4150 with a Bluetooth GPS. (I already have TomTom3 S/W on a failing Tosh e570 with a failed CF GPS!)

Looking through the forum, I get the impression that there are lots of problems with BT GPS. Are the problems all down to Firmware versions or PPC setup? Or is BT GPS just not robust enough for the job?

I'm interested in some real user feedback and any recommendations for a solid combination.

Cheers

Bigdave

Hi Bigdave,

I've had my 4140 with BT TT3 fo about three weeks now, the only problem I get is once or twice the 4150 will not "pair" with the reciever when starting up, a quick soft reboot and away she goes, no problem, all I have asked myself is, should I have gone for the cable version purely on the basis there is no pairing, and no running out of charge! as I drive for most of the day. BT is a great gadget but adds the possibility of these probs.

Cheers

I have BT gps reciever and it works fine all the time. I would def recommend. Just get the charger cable for the car and plug it in when the battery runs low!

Rich.
