Should work OK. It can display any map, and can be used just as a map reader. It will also tell you the grid coordinates of any point on the map.

I've never been able to test on a Sony (other than an emulator), so would be interested to see if it works.

Getting quite close to having a version ready for beta testing now.

ideal, let me know when it's ready and we'll sort out a download. it'd be great to have memory map available in the field when i'm out caching. saves wandering off footpaths and being able to avoid the deepest areas of bogs!

Default map2hand from SK7software

OK, I have finally put together a zip file containing my application, help pages, sample map and sample speed camera data. You can download it here:

http://website.lineone.net/~andrew.b...p/map2hand.zip

The help pages have been rather hurridly put together, but hopefully give enough information to get started. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

The sample map should enable you to get started quite quickly, then it is worth spending a bit of time putting together some maps of your own from your preferred source. 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 OS maps are the best for the UK, as they are the easiest to calibrate.

I don't own a bluetooth GPS receiver, so support for bluetooth might be a bit flaky (although I think it will work). I aim to improve this in future, once I've got things up and running.

I will PM the people who explicitly expressed an interest in this.

Details of the product at http://www.sk7software.com

I've added an updated version of the Map converter desktop app to the download. It will now support most common image formats (jpg, gif, any depth bmp, png, tiff etc). Also, the overview image gets created automatically - no need to create a separate file.

Download it at the same place...
