Default tom tom pda and heat reflecting windscreen

Hi, i wonder if anyone can help ive got an ipaq with tom tom and have just ordered a new audi a3 which has a heat reflecting windscreen. Is there an extra ariel i need to order or something ?

You can use a re-radiating antennae which you can see @ http://www.totalpda.co.uk/product4481_372.aspx .

Can i just get a bluetooth reciever and put it in the boot to avoid the problem ?

No, If you put it in the boot it will not have a view of the sky so will not pick up a signal.

You may find the same coating on the rear window as well but you could try it.

Where is best to mount it all then to try and avoid wires on show in my nice new car

Normally in the centre of the dash at the base of the windscreen as you can then route the cable along the channel between the screen and dash. If you have to get a re-radiating antenna they can be fitted in the same way but because it is a length of cable you can run it through to the back of the vehicle in between dorr seals etc.

Thanks for the help so far. If i use this ariel can i mount the bluetooth reciever in the boot and run the cable from there to the rear screen ? Does this ariel 'see' the bluetooth unit so they don't have to be plugged into each other and does it come with a power lead that i can hard wire ?
