Default TomTom GO or PDA based GPS

From my research so far, it would seem that many have experienced problems with PDA based TomTom systems, or is it that TomTom themselves are having teething problems..! And I'm not the kind of person who likes tinkering to much, just want to switch on and go (excuse the pun!). So, am I better of just buying a TomTom GO and have done with it, or have the additional benefits of the PDA for the same price? Also, does anyone know if the 'GO' is the same spec as TT3.

One more thing, are the extra maps for PDA based TT3 compatable with the 'GO'

Also my own personal experience.....PDA technology works and is excellent but it's not 100%....like everything else it's not perfect but for the most part it is brilliant. On the dedicated GPS side they are also excellent and I can recommend them to anyone, especially if they are not familiar with PC or PDA technology.

Thanks for your help guys, think it's going to be a dedicated item for me though. I went looking today, just to see what they all look like and the sales guy was trying his best to sell me a Garmin unit, reckons they are better than tomtom, certainley a lot more expensive, thats for sure, but are they worth it? He said that the Garmin maps for Spain (which for me needs to be good) are only major routes, how do tomtom maps of Spain compare, anuone know?

If you buy the TomTom Maps of Western Europe then they are as detailed as the UK maps.

Don`t know about Spain, but I used the French map this summer and it was extremely detailed.
