Reminds me of the story about the guy who phones the HelpDesk saying his monitor is not working, nothing, zilch. The HelpDesk asks him to check the connections.
"Seem OK" says guy "but I can't really see."
"Why noy?"
"It's dark - there's a power cut"
"I think I have the problem" says the Help guy, "do you have all the boxes the 'puter came in?"
"yes, why?"
"Put it all in the box and take it back to the shop"
"Why, what will I tell them?"
"Tell them you are too stupid to have a computer!"

Activated my tomtom navigator 3 no problem, I for one think it is great, use it every day as I am on the road every day, my mate bought hp navigator package from your selves, and I activated it for him with no problems, I do not see what all the fuss is about, as the software is great, sure there are a few problems with roads missing, or the ocasional wrong routing, but out of 100 times used, I for one get 99% correct usage. I have not tried other packages, but would recomend this to anyone, and after both myself, and my mate have been using ours, other drivers in the same buissines as us, are now going to buy the same package, as they are soo impressed with it. I hope you have got plenty of stock, as the only complaint my mate has, is how long it took to get it after ordering it.

As you might already know I'm non too pleased with Tomtoms customer support, it took me all weekend and a Monday not so long ago to loads maps of Europe on my TT3. If only it had said somewhere in the instruction I received that it was neccesary to load a 16mb map from the GB map list first I could of had the job done in no time.

I cannot understand the problems people are having with Tom Tom. I have loaded & activated Tom Tom 2, Tom Tom 3, Uk maps, Europe maps etc etc on my PDA a number of times. Ok I understand that the activation process might seem complicated, but, it is needed to safeguard their software and income streams.

I have contacted them a number of times and their customer services are brilliant. They are an extremely good company and would recommend them to anyone.

However, I do have complaints with my Compaq laptop customer's service which are non-existent, all it means is that I will not buy their products again. Same with other manufacturers.

Welcome to our forums Bernard.
It's nice to hear other people have something positive to say about TomTom for a change.
