Default HP 4150 - GPS all too confusing! which?

How many more of these threads can you guys take, but i just can`t help but start another one with my specific questions that similar threads have failed to answer.

OK - so i have a HP 4150 , an amazing unit that i`m really happy with. I really want GPS so i`ve read all the threads on here, and realise i have a choice of software and hardware! I THINK that i am more likely to decide to go for the Tomtom 3 Nav software and it looks really cool.

However as far as hardware goes.....what do i get, tomtom bluetooth, the cable connection? and what is tomtom BT ? Or what about the nav man ?!?!?

Is it just personal opinion what i choose to buy!? Do they all work the same, i know the tomtom has a lower battery life than the nav! Some advise tomtom some advise nav!! Do i have to be model specific to my pda or are they all compatable!

To summarise, i really wanna know is it just personal preference, my budget is as low as possible but to get a decent unit! I`m a student so don`t want to pay the earth! Basically will whatever i get be compatable ? I`m just way way way confused with my options.

Regards
Chris

PS gonna be using it for car travel, but want the option to use it when walking in the lakes and stuff!

It's mainly personal preference but there are economical matters to consider.
TomTom3 includes UK maps and the major roads of europe. Navman includes UK maps and western europe maps (fully detailed street level). Navman is only available in bluetooth whereas TomTom is available with bluetooth or wired (the decision for this lies with wether you intend to use the system outside the car, if you won't then get a cabled system). Go along to shop and have a play with both versions and see which you are comfortable with.

I am a complete novice re gps sytems etc and also have a 4150. I am interested in the SD expansion card style gps systems such iTrack. One main concern, - if the gps is in the expansion card slot, how do I store the maps? I haev not seen any threads on these SD type devices - doies anyone have any opinions?

Welcome to our forums SuesyB.
It seems the iTrack is a tracking system as opposed to a navigation system. Is it tracking or navigation your looking for?

Well tracking is mainly used by fleet companies and trucking companies so that someone in a central location (like the company office) can monitor the whereabouts of their vehicles. Navigation is when you want guidance in your car to tell you how to get somewhere.
