For Christmas I received a Yakumo Delta 300 GPS with Marco Polo Mobile Navigator. I am having problems with the Marco Polo software and as it's creators are German, support is hard to find.
In response to some of the posts already made I thought it would be helpful to list the following websites and contacts I have found:
The Yakumo website (in English)
http://www.yakumo.com/produkte/index...g=PDAs#1033999 I would not recommend downloading any patches off this site unless you can read german but it is useful for information and the product manual. The Marco Polo website (in English) http://www.marcopolo.de/mobilenavigator/en/1.htm
This website has links to install new POIs including Golf ranges and Cinemas, train stations etc (all for the UK map). Just click on "Free Travel Related Addresses" on the right hand side. Word of warning: I downloaded all the available POIs and tried to load them. Firstly, it takes bloody ages to compile them. Once it has copied, it messes up the searches ie postcode searching causes the little "im busy" logo to appear and it never goes away nor finds a result. You can still use the program behind it though and if you exit the program it goes away until the next time.
The Marco Polo Support website in English
http://www.mapandguide.info/index.as...gg_top=5&ol=EN
(or click "support websites" on the right hand side of the marco polo webside)
Here you can download "Service Pack 3" which supposedly fixes problems. But it doesn't fix mine.
It also has a premium rate number you can call at £1.50/min - 0905 8019250. Im going to give it a go and I'll post the results when I've found out what I'm doing so wrong.
In the mean time, the moderators have been flaming this program and the PDA. I don't think the PDA is actually that bad, probably just as good as any other mid-range PDA. It is the Mitac Mio 168 with a Yakumo logo on.
And the Marco Polo software is the same as Falk Navigator (there are even links to it off their website!!). I do admit however, that this software is a bit flawed but hopefully I can get some help out of tech support.
