Smile Advice for a gps newbie please :)

I've been mulling over buying a GPS for a while and I have a rough idea of the products now but having never owned one before and I would value any advice you guys can throw my way I have a couple of requirements though that are making picking a solution alittle difficult.

Firstly I was a device that will give me a driving directions. I own an 4150 series Ipaq so the Navman 4410 looks pretty good to me. The long battery life of the unit greatly appeals. However I also would like a device that I can use while walking/hiking for directional info/location and that sort of stuff (also for use outside the UK). Now from what I can gather the Navman just isnt going to be much good for that. It may be that the best solution is 2 different gps devices but I want to avoid that if possible. I believe there are a number of 3rd party applications that you can use with navman and tomtom style gps & pda's so perhaps one of these would be the answer.

Any advice please oh gps guru's?

Welcome to our forums.
Navman will do what you require for voice guided in car navigation although for the price you may be better getting TomTom and their Western Europe maps. For walking/hiking you would need software like Memory Map as neither TomTom or Navman are suitable for that type of situation.
