Help please - which gps pda?

Please could I have some advice please....I am looking to buy a satellite navigation gps pda primarily for use in the car, particularly with work. I would like a decent pda that has some useful applications on as well and I'm looking to spend up to a maximum of £400(ish). I would also like a system that you could just take out of the vehicle easily to use on foot. I've heard tomtom is one of the best but would like any advice please.
