Default what do i set my gps to??????

hi all,
having a few probs with my new xda2/gps receiver. I bought a wired receiver and tomtom 3.03 software. after what would appear to be the normal activation problems i found that i get no responce from my receiver (just a flashing red light tio say it's searching) which doesnt surprise me as i don't know what to set the gps options to. I think that it should be set to SERIAL ON COM1, but when i try that i get an error saying "com1 is not installed cant open port". this is about the only setting i don't know if it's correct

my receiver connects via a ps/2 style connctor that in turn connects into th xda and charges at the same time
hope tis makes some sense to someone

have read the manual, called the manufacturer, asked in the o2 shop wher ibought the xda from...y'all are my last hope.

please help...

daley

Default

try going to start/settings/connections/beam and un-tick the box next to "receive all incoming beams". The infrared sometimes hogs com1 so this frees it up.
