GPS Novice

Hi,

I need some advice on which GPS to buy, as I have only recently started looking around for a system. (Around £700)

I want a dedicated GPS system that I can use mainly in-car, but possibly using it on foot so it needs to have a car charger and ac charger, with a reasonable battery life. It needs to have street level UK and Europe mapping (France), and the ability to upgrade maps as and when required. Easy to use, a touch screen, and voice directions would be good too!

After trawling through various sites, I have found two possibles, the Mio 269, and the soon to be released TomTom 700. What do you think, and are there any other models I could consider?
