Default More information on GPS systems

Hi,I am a new member to this Forum, and the reason I joined was to get some further info... on GPS systems, or would PDA,be a better option for me,I live in the Rep of Ireland, where I understand the mapping system is not very good, can anyone tell me how much detial the Irish maps carry,is it only city,s, and what citys would they be, I am a Hackney driver (Taxi)and City information would be very helpful if it were accurate, also I read in some reviews of thes GPS systems, that some can be a complete waste of money, in the sense that there directions were completely inaccurate eg.. sending a car across a river--no bridge, still I
like some advice and opion,on what type of system ,and software, would be suitable for here, any help would be appreciated.Brendan

the Irish map data in simple words is terrible, it has the major cities but that’s all ie it could take you round Dublin and cork but could not link both area's. Both teleatlas and navteq are poor for map coverage i am affraid.
