updating the SD card

I want to use a second SD card that I purhased for that purpose, as well as other extras i've downloaded. My question is, I transfer to/from computer by watching the blue loading thingy and thats it. This is the first time I've loaded form the CD i.e. registering etc yet when I look at my programs page there is nothing there. I've never had this before. I've got the computer, TTG 500 CD, my 2nd SD card. Have I done it right or am I still missing some 'ingredience' to complete the task. I dern't do anything until I know what I'm doing.
