Default Help for Newbie on standalone GPS systems

Hello

I'm thinking of buying my husband an all in one GPS system for Christmas. He can't cope with PDA/mobile phone stuff (see, it's not only women who are technically incapable! ) as he wouldn't really use it nor have the patience to learn, so I thought the all in one system would be most suitable for his needs - would you agree?

I would like to know the best buy for an all in one GPS and how easy they are to use - I have looked at the TomTom Go 300/500 and possibly the Navman ICN 320 as they are the most recommended in the comparable chart.

Please can you let me know which all in one system would be the best buy & most suitable. He does regular long journeys and like to know how to avoid traffic jams, etc. It would be useful to be able to transfer to other cars, but not essential. It has to be easy to use & easy to hear & understand.

Many thanks.

Welcome to our forums.
From personal experience with introducing people to satnav I'd recommend a TomTomGO unit for their ease of use and portability. The basic 300 model will suit most with its full UK map.
