Default Honda CR-V

Hi...looks like I will be getting one of the above shortly, complete with Honda's (?) sat nav system. My question is, are these factory fitted in- built systems as flexible as stand alone versions ? I have my TT5 system set up just about exactly as I want it, with safety camera warnings as well as other downloaded POI's. I also have street level European maps installed. Do you get this flexibility with Honda's ? In fact, who's is the underlying system ? Will I end up running two systems in the car ? Thanks. Mike.

IIRC TomTom do do a few in-built systems, although branded for the car manufacturer.

You pretty much get the usual nav, ad fav's (normally) but not usually the ability to update or add things like POI's.

Good thing is though, you can simply buy new DVD maps to keep it upto date.

The factory fit system in your Honda won't have the level of configuration/customisation as your TomTom system but I have still heard good reveiws on them.

The DVD updates however can cost you the price of a sat nav system on its own when update time comes around.
